Riley first came to me a few months ago searching for her wedding photographer. I have gotten to know her over our emails and booking meeting. From the start I could tell she is just as sweet and authentic as my home made apple pie.
Zac and Arie go back a little farther than that however. Back to the cobalt dayz when our old car club was active. Knowing what I knew about Zac and hearing what I heard from Riley I knew we would be a great fit for their wedding day. I am even more sure of it now after tonight!
I pulled up to the village at spring mill and Riley and Zac were there already waiting for me on a park table. I was so happy to see them there before me because I was itching to get started! I immediately noticed their connection by catching subtle body language like Riley stepping closer to Zac and Zac lifting his hand to Riley welcoming her in.
We started at the fence and worked our way around the park stopping here and there in good lighting. Laughing and chatting the entire way through! Riley mentioned that she'd like to get a few shots in front of the water fall that was located around the village. Of course I was up for that! She said she wanted to wait till the end of our session though, Not dawning on me at all why she'd want to wait for the end. Maybe just incase she was splashed I thought.
At the beginning of the end of our time together we headed for the water fall. I started to skim around and noticed she was getting different shoes out of her bag, water shoes at that! For herself and Zac! This changed everything for me! Now I was skimming around with a new excitement because now I realized she meant they wanted to be directly in front of the water fall! Heck ya!
A rough spot in the water caught my eye as they were changing shoes, it was splashing every each way, thrashing around. The colors around it were dark and moody. I was imaging beautiful images of them in that water getting soaked and laughing between the splashes, holding onto each other so they wouldn't get washed away.
That's when Zac asked me what I was thinking, which I replied "Oh probably something you wouldn't like! haha" Because I didn't know how they'd like me asking them to get hit in the face by rushing water! Their faces said try me! After a few shots standing and playing, these troopers got down in the rough water for me! I cannot explain how lucky I am to have clients like Riley and Zac who are adventurous and outgoing like this! Their engagement session is like no other because we had FUN and tried something NEW!
I cannot wait until their wedding day arrives, just to simply watch this pair join as one. Love like this is so special and so pure.
