About two months ago I entered into a contest to win a free dress at Pretty Please Boutique. I commented Zina's photo in hopes of scoring her this awesome dress!
It didn't take long to win as I was the only one to post a photo of their child that would ware it! My sister and I picked the color we wanted and then it was off in the mail! Now Zina is here with me visiting so the real excitement begins!
When she arrived I told her we'd be taking pictures, normally she's all about it! Her response was that she had been taking to many pictures lately and needed a break so why don't we don't we do it tomorrow instead! She had me rolling. After some convincing she agreed to take them with me last night so that we'd have all day today to party.
When it was time for pictures we went to my house form my parents to curl her hair and get her ready. We played Disney pandora and sat on the bathroom floor and talked while I curled her thick hair! alas! She was ready to put on her dress. So we carefully slipped it on over her fresh do, clipped in the matching hair piece that came with it and reveled to her what she'd become.
The look on her face was priceless. Seeing my six year old niece look at herself all dolled up and light up without a single negative thought about herself (like us grown ups might do) was so very refreshing. She purely understands loving herself. I pray she never loses that. It brings my heart so much joy having sessions like this with her. Doting over her looks, jokes, and style is so much fun and worth more in memories than money could ever buy.
We really do have so much fun together doing this. She's growing up right before my eyes, every sessions she is taller, smarter, and even cuter.
I hope we never stop taking pictures :)
Zina,
When your older and you look at these I want you to remember the pure bliss and joy you have. What it felt like getting dolled up, and all the laughs we had. I love how full of yourself you are. You thought people were going to come and pay you just because you were so cute walking around town with me taking pictures. Girl you were and if they had money they would've.
Always remember YOU are the most important thing. It is not selfish, it is not overly bold. With out you, there is no go getting, pleasing others, or that bright shining light you radiate everywhere you go. Always take care of Zina first. Love yourself endlessly, promise me you'll never stop. Show the world the mountains you can move with your self confidence.
With a heart like yours, I know you can do literally anything you want to. Your smartness shocks me every time I see you! Listen to your mother, (most of the time) because she helped raise me too and she honestly knows so much helpful information. <3
Remember to be brave and try new things.
I love you more!
Xoxo
