Planning a wedding can be stressful, If you let it!! It doesn't have to be hard. Here are 5 of my top suggestions to brides to stay organized, and have the most beautiful day of their lives.
#4 GET A CHECK LIST
The very first thing you need to do is make a check list! Put it in your notes app on your phone so its ALWAYS with you. That way you can add anything to it, big or small. You want to keep up with that more then anything else. It will be your life line! Include vendor meetings/bookings, Deposit dates, payment dates and how much you paid! There are GREAT wedding apps for this also!
Record everything, which brings me to the next topic
#3 GET A WEDDING BINDER
Make a copy of your check list and put it right up front. Print out all your contracts with Vendors, Receipts, and hotel bookings. Make a tab for your ceremony, and include your music, order of bridal party (Heck all their contact info and if they've done their fittings) Anything to do with the ceromony. Make a tab for the Photography. Include your contract with your photographer, your shot list for the photographer (Make sure to send this to your photographer as well) And print out your communications. The dress and the photography/videography will last longer then any memory. So it’s important to spend your budget here.
Next make a tab all for your reception. Include your DJ info, Catering Info, Cake Info, Music Playlist, decor list, record pricing, seating chart and timeline for the night. Give a copy of your timeline to the DJ and your Photographer. Your timeline should have an order of how the night will go. Entrance time, first dance, toasts, eating, bouquet toss, then garter toss, cake cutting ECT.Next you want to make a tab for gifts. This can have a list of the things you received from guest so you can send them a thanks.
#2 LOOK INTO A WEDDING PLANNER
A wedding planner would take loads of stress off you. I’ve known of great Mother-of-the-bride’s that assisted in organizing. Your maid of honor, or Hire someone who does it Professionally. A professional wedding planner will amaze you, they know so much. You’ve been dreaming of this day for your whole life. The little girl inside you can’t be let down. It will be the most amazing day of your life no matter what, so don’t stress it girl. The bottom line is you are marrying that amazing man. You want to look back on this day a remember falling in love all over again, Not that you were stressed out about your cake being late. Which brings me to my most important one.
#1 REMEMBER TO ENJOY IT
You get to do this ONE TIME. Remember it is not about having the perfect ceromony or reception. It’s not about what your grandma wants you to pick for the food. It’s not about the seating chart. It’s about two people, that so deeply love one another. Two souls that are celebrating the fact they are becoming one on this day. I hear to often that a bride and groom barely see each other on the day of their wedding. This brakes my heart. So my most important advice to you is to make sure, you both, stop and look at one another. To remember this moment. It’s not about the guests, you can see them together, put aside time for that later. It’s about YOU and your groom, ladies. So get out there, have fun with him picking out the food, taste testing ALL THE CAKE, and falling in love all over again with the man of your dreams. Because love like this doesn’t happen everyday, what you have is special and magical. Soak. It. Up.
